Introduction & Intake
De Praktijk Studio is designed for contemporary artists and product designers who are committed to developing their professional practice, positioning and long-term career. Because we work intensively and personally, every programme begins with an introductory conversation and intake. This is not a sales meeting, but a professional discussion about your work, your practice and the direction in which you want to develop.

About he intake
We intentionally work with a carefully selected group of no more than twelve participants. This allows us to provide every artist and product designer with the attention, critical reflection and individual guidance that meaningful practice development requires. Every professional practice is different. Some are still emerging, while others are entering a new stage of growth or repositioning. During the intake, we therefore look beyond the quality of the work itself. Together we explore the practice as a whole: where does your practice stand today? what is already working well? where is greater coherence needed? what is required for the next stage of development? The intake is intended to create clarity - for you as well as for us. Sometimes there is an immediate and obvious match. Sometimes the timing is not yet right. And sometimes another direction may be more appropriate.

We believe that careful selection is an essential part of the programme.

What we explore
During the intake we discuss, among other things:

• the current stage of your professional practice
• the positioning of your work
• presentation and communication
• coherence within your portfolio
• pricing and value development
• your ambitions and future direction
• the fit between your development goals and the programme.

Equally important is your willingness to reflect critically on your own practice and to actively engage in its development. A strong professional practice does not develop by itself. It requires reflection, focus and the courage to make conscious choices.

When the programme may not be the right fit
De Praktijk Studio is generally less suitable if your primary focus is: achieving quick visibility or immediate sales, promotion without deeper professional development, seeking confirmation rather than critical reflection or working without the willingness to evaluate and develop your practice.

How the process works
The intake takes place online and lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Once we receive your application, we will contact you within a few working days to arrange an introductory conversation. Together we will explore whether De Praktijk Studio is the right programme for you at this stage of your professional development.

Possible Outcomes
Following the intake, there are three possible outcomes.

1. Admission to De Praktijk Studio
There is a clear professional and personal fit, and you are invited to join the programme.

2. Participation at a later Stage
Your practice has strong potential, but the timing or stage of development is not yet ideal. In that case, we will discuss a more suitable moment to begin.

3. No match at this time
Sometimes the programme is simply not the right fit for your current practice, ambitions or development goals. We consider this to be an important part of a careful selection process. Every professional practice develops at its own pace. And not every moment is the right moment to begin.
