Lisette Zagers is a versatile artist who uses various materials and techniques.
She lives and works in Zundert, the village where Vincent van Gogh was born.
At the IKO in Hoogstraten (B) she followed the disciplines drawing and painting and at Atelier Visker in Etten-Leur she followed 6 years of lessons in the old technique of fine painting with oil paint. To continue to challenge herself, she regularly attends workshops and classes with other artists and training institutes. She has been taking ceramics classes at Atelier Beeldkracht in Rijsbergen for a few years now. Working three-dimensionally with clay is an art form that suits her well and in which there is still a lot to learn and discover. Working with oil paint as a material will always remain her favorite (often with the subjects of flowers and portraits, but sometimes also still lifes).
In recent years, making linocuts, portraits with permanent marker on glass and making portraits with Bic pen have also been added. The Bic pen is a kind of rediscovery of an “old love”, as she was always drawing with that pen as a child. The past year was mainly devoted to experimenting with making portraits by means of collage techniques in combination with other media. Lisette has given free rein to her imagination, which has produced surprising results, also for herself.
She has been drawing and painting since childhood and cannot imagine a life without art.
The statement “I create, therefore I exist“ certainly applies to her.
