"I received my training in various studios under the expert guidance of several academy teachers, including Nico Deboeck, who soon encouraged me to develop my own style.The color and shape of the drawings and paintings I made turned out to be more important than the truthful representation. I wanted to dissect the things I saw to be one with what I felt about the things I saw. I have experimented with different types of techniques: oil paint, acrylic, marbling and collages. I experimented with using different materials in my work.Paper, mirror, plaster, sand helped me in my quest to best express my feelings.
Lately I've been working in themes, always consisting of a collection, where I used to paint single paintings. I mainly make portrait paintings in oil, often in relief with a different material. The eyes are often shown in close-up in order to maximize the feelings of the characters. Colorful background formations enclose a typical face, building or figure. this leaves a lot of room to put your own ideas into the entire work or to start looking for it.
