Amer Bader

Amer Bader was educated at the University of Baghdad (Faculty of Fine Arts 2001). He lived and worked in Jordan and Syria. In 2010 he was invited to the Netherlands. His paintings are inspired by the culture, customs and traditions of Iraq, his beloved country. He paints beautiful and happy memories; fast, powerful and displayed with warmth. Some of his more recent works expresses pain of the war and its impact on the people. Mingling memories of former Iraq with his impressions from current Europe is his creative drivingforce. Amer has a unique visual language. He works with impasto strokes and displays a strong sense of proportion and color. The paint is thickly applied in several layers of paint with a spatula or brush, resulting in a plastic effect. The bright and often unmixed colors give a fresh image. In his work you can see Amer’s quest and personal development clearly. It is “on the way” and renews itself to the new Dutch light.
