Dutch Luxury Design and the art market

Our society has changed and business innovation is also taking place in the art market. Increasingly, the demand-driven economy is gaining the upper hand over the supply-driven economy. The driving force behind this is change in buying motives and buying behaviour. In the old supply-based model, it was mainly about the comparative cost advantage; price was the weapon against competition. Nowadays, it is mainly about the choice of where to buy something, with social and environmental involvement being the main motivation for customers.

Creating opportunities

Firstly, it is about creating opportunities for selling art in today's overcrowded and international market. This is an activity that demands more and more marketing. One of the reasons for this is that potential buyers first orientate themselves on the internet, increasingly looking at platforms that enjoy familiarity and trust and where a greater choice is presented. This makes it increasingly time-consuming and expensive for individual artists, who want to do their own marketing, to bring their art objects to the attention of the right audience. Moreover, we usually see a less effective form of marketing that is based on the outdated supply model.

Our mission: To further develop the art platform of Dutch Luxury Design as a marketplace for artists, art lovers and -collectors.

It is our mission to support artists with their marketing and creating opportunities to sell their art on the international market. That is why, in addition to our physical gallery in Buren, we are investing in the infrastructure and marketing of an (online) art platform as a marketplace. Our online art platform naturally has a much wider reach than the physical gallery. The Internet does not stop at the border. We distinguish ourselves with the balance between sufficient supply and personal approach.
The driving force behind our online art platform is two-sided. On the one hand, aimed at generating economies of scale, choice and reliability on the demand side; the customer side, on the other hand on the functionality and network effects of the platform and findability in the market. Artists as well as art lovers and collectors can benefit from this.

Services to artists

By participating in our art platform, artists get a large international market reach and the space to present themselves and their art objects and to sell their work. For this purpose, a private profile page is set up with the option of video placement, contact information and linked presentation of his/her art objects with a direct link to its own section of our webshop and payment system. In addition, they have the opportunity to sell their art objects directly from their own studio. By participating, they then become part of a professional portfolio and can focus their attention on their own work.
