Laguna Colorado

Hundreds of colorful flamingos grace the red waters of the Laguna Colorada (Bolivia), searching for plankton and algae. These algae are partly responsible for the deep red color of the salt lake and flamingos love it.
In addition to the large numbers of flamingos, the Laguna Colorado is characterized by a barren rocky landscape in the background. This in combination with the red water, the white islands and a clear blue sky creates this unique picture.
